Our Story


Brown Girls Cook was born out of a need for a place where there is room for all brown girls to have a seat at the table! We wanted a space for women of color to shine, and share their culinary creativity. We are all about celebrating and highlighting one another, and our contributions to the food world. We are sharing recipes, food products, and the latest food news so you can stay up to date with what's happening with brown girls all over the world.  
Our founder, Chef Kristiahna Clark, is also known for being the owner of
Platinum Desserts and the author of the cookbook "Let's Say Grace". She is a graduate of Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Le Cordon Bleu, and has been in the industry now for over 20 years. Teaching people how to cook and sharing her food knowledge is one of the things she loves doing the most. She believes that love can be tasted in every bite so it should be the main ingredient!
